Sunny Crawling

The sun has finally started to come out in town and today you went out onto the back deck to have a bit of a crawl around. I think you quite enjoyed it but not nearly as much as you seem to enjoy standing at the screen door and looking out. I love comiong to the door and seeing you standing there with your big smiling fasce.

Facing Front

You're now a big forwards facing boy. We put in your forwards facing harness for the big trip down to Edmonton. You seemed to be ambivalent about it though. On the one hand you enjoyed watching baby Noah and singing along to Aladin with your Mum but on the other hand you didin't seem to be quite as in favour of the arrangements for sleeping. Your head was all floppy and not nearly as comfortable as reciining facing backwards.

Chipmunking

Now that you have got those choppers on the bottom shelf you have started to use them. You had woken up and were making it known and your Mum went into your room and discovered that you, as usual, were standing up with your mouth over the edge of the crib. Nothing looked different until we looked on the other side of where your lips were and ... you had started to gnaw at the bed with your teeth. You'd taken all the finish off the wood!

What a little toe-rag.

TV goes on, TV goes off, TV goes on TV goes off....

You have discovered the joys of the on/off switch of the television. You stand there turning it on and off over and over again. It makes it a little difficult to watch anything but watching you is a good substitute for whatever it was that we were watching.

Standing, Standing, Standing

You're getting to be such a good stander now. You crouch down and then slowly raise yourslef up into a standing position with the biggest smile on your face if there is someone watching. It won't be long until you are walking or more likely running everywhere.

Pointy Chin Evil Smile

You have the cheekiest little smiles going on at the moment. You arch your little eyebrows, point your little chin and purse your lips before cracking a wonderful smile. You mostly do this when you are up to no good like when you are trying to grab something down from a table or you are grabbing Jasmine's tail.

Popcorn Twists

Desperate times called for desperate measures on the way home from Edmonton. You'd just had enough of being all tied in and after we'd been at the mall for a while with you in your pram and we'd got as far back as Mariana Lakes you blew. For the last couple of hours you were just crying and crying so we stopped and bought you some popcorn twisters which didin't seem to make you too happy but they did keep you occupied. Now you don't seem to be able to get enough of them. We spread them out on your high chair tray and you grab them up and put your whole hand in your mouth to eat them. You look so happy munching away.

Sort of Standing

This evening we went to dinner with your Uncle Rob and Aunt Val at an Indian buffet. Uncle Rob fed you some rice pudding which you seemed to quite like. After dinner we went back to their house and after you crawled about for a bit being a dear wee boy you got hold of thier telephone and just stood up. You balanced for a few seconds before sitting down again but you definately stood up. Later that same evening you did the same thing but with a remote control.

You are going to be walking in no time.

Passport Photos II

Well after all that and getting the photos you got taken on Tuesday guarantorednd everything the people at the passport place rejected the shots so we had to get them done at Canada place in Edmonton at a studio outside the passport office. Maybe you won't get to be a spokes-model after all.

Guacamole

Today we went to Red Robbin for dinner. We didin't get to eat there though because they took too long to bring out the food and to make matter worse your Mum forgot her purse there but on the upside for you, you were getting a bit tired and crotchety so we dipped your chew toy from Eriks lap-tpo bag into guacamole and you were in love. We did it lots of times and it kept you very happy.

Shouting at a crazy man

Today you decided to test out your increasing vocal skills by yelling out at a guy who looked kind of wild with teeth missing and everything. You were surprised but not unpleased to find that he yelled back at you so you yelled at him again but your Mum didn't hang around to let you keep playing.

Passport Photos

We are planning to go to New Zealand in the summer and in order for you to go you need a passport which of course means you need some photographs. These photographs however have to look a very particular way and trying to get a 9 month old to do all the things required was very difficult. Add to that the fact that the photo place was roasting hot, had no white backing sheet and well you can guess the rest.

Finally your Mum and the photo lady got one that they thought might be good though. Luckily we don't need them every year because it was quite a struggle.

Apparently you were so cute the photo lady had to keep one of you photos too.
